Moments with God
"For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercy will I gather thee. In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer." Is. 54:7-8 There are times in our lives that the trials of life or the chastening of God may seem to last forever. The pain and suffering, tears and heartache that we endure are but for a moment. Here in our text, it says it is for a small moment. David said in Ps. 30:5 "For his anger endureth but for a moment." In those moments may we see more than just the heartache and pain; may we see God's great mercy and may we see His everlasting kindness. David goes on to said weeping may endure for the night, (a moment), but JOY comes in the morning." Paul stated this way in 2Cor. 4:17, "For our light affliction is but for a moment." The suffering we face and the trials we endure are but for a moment. In that moment may we realize and experience God's great mercy and everlasting kindness. Why? Because Paul goes on to say, because of that moment, it will work FOR US a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory."
